Here in New Mexico summer comes early and is an endless sunny day for 6 weeks. A bit too much heat for me...and it makes gardening a daily watering routine. It's 100 degrees for weeks and the rain falls within eyesight just hovering over the tops of the Sandia mountains to the east..but doesn't fall on my acre .The cute quail family with chicks and a teenage lookout don't seem to mind and come for water after I quench the trees. Roadrunner sits on the courtyard wall and watches for lizards that have become pets and come running when I open the gate. But mid August brings a slight cooling..the sun feels different..plants respond as if coming out of survival mode.
Maybe humans do that as well. When darkness lifts we respond. Let's shine a light..get to creating, learn something new.
I'll be creating new workshops for fall and winter..creativity in groups is excellent therapy...join red paint circle of friends ( link on bottom of page ) for news of upcoming events.
